Patrick Raymond Cata, Sr. – Age 67 a resident of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents: Matthew and Felipa Cata; mother and father-in-law: Emilio and Lorencita Shroulote; brothers: Michael, Matthew Cata , Billy Carter and Frank Cata; sisters: Elsie Trujillo, Louise Maestas, Annie Cata; and niece, Nadine Cata. He was born on March 16, 1944 to Matthew and Felipa Cata. He attended Polo Alto School for Electronics. He was a Vietnam Veteran, he worked for Eberline Instruments as a electronic technician. He is survived by his wife, Irene Cata; daughter, Renee Cata and son-in-law, Joe Atencio; sons: Patrick Cata, Jr and Brian Cata and his family and wife, Charmaine Cata; step-sons: James Bridges, Andrew and Andrea Cordova and Leo Martinez; granddaughters: Amanda Atencio and Jolene Atencio; great-granddaughter, Lashae Atencio; grandson, Christopher Lewis; sisters: Doris and Tony Vigil and family, Frances Cata and Linda Maestas and family; brother, Edgar and Reyanne Cata; Godchildren: Desiree Martinez, Jason, Jr Rick, Alfred Shroulote, Jr.; brothers-in-law: Alfred, Stan and Rick Shroulote and wife Sandra and families; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cata Residence in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Burial will follow at the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Curt and Butterfly Garcia, Roman and Nevin Duran, Darrel and Loren Montoya, Ryan Calabaza, Anthony Vigil, James Bridges, Andrew Cordova and Joe Atencio.
