Patrick Trujillo

Patrick R. Trujillo , 63, originally of El Rito, was born on March 17, 1954 to Abel and Cloide Trujillo, and was welcomed home by our Dear Lord on February 17, 2018 in Albuquerque. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Cloide Trujillo.  Pat aka “Diggerman” was a man’s man, who fought hard and loved harder, he was always giving and caring for others above himself. Patrick loved and truly lived life, from his Saturday night denims kicking up dust at Rodeo Nights to the endless search for that trophy buck or prized trout in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, always created lasting memories with everyone around him. Patrick was a giving, loving man who had rough and strong yet gentle hands after working years of construction in and around New Mexico and beyond. Patrick was proud of his participation in drafting, designing and building many of the structures still standing in the Española Valley including, Española Hospital, Lucero Center and various projects with Española Schools. He was proud of his accomplishments and shared his many talents of the construction industry with anyone needing a helping hand.  Pat enjoyed being the life of the party with his endless jokes and positive attitude, valuing the time spent with his beloved children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces and countless friends. Patrick is survived by his daughter, Sonia (Dale) Salazar; son, Patrick (Melanie) Trujillo; grandchildren, Dale, Chris, Sebastian, Maddox and Xavier; siblings, Olivia (David) Gossett, Eva (Tom) Woodford, Paula (Michael) Sisneros, Ana Marie (David) Valdez, David (Priscilla) Trujillo, Herman (Nora) Trujillo, Alfonso (Elsa) Trujillo, Benjie (Yvonne) Trujillo, and many nieces and nephews. Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. also at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Serving the family as pallbearers are: Dale Salazar Jr, Dan Trujillo, Randy Trujillo, Clarence Chavez, Roger Naranjo, David Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be his God-daughter, Santana Valdez and Brian Miera. The family of Patrick R. Trujillo has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
