PATRICK SEAN TURNER, 55, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011.\r\nDevoted father, husband, dreamer, visionary, and the best friend a person could have.\r\nPat was born on Kauai, and raised on Oahu in the Village of Lanikai. He enjoyed running cross-country, and could be seen running, walking or riding his bike all over the islands he explored. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Hawaii, and shortly thereafter joined the Navy where he received several awards and commendations, including a Purple Heart. \r\nAfter years as a successful entrepreneur with several patents and industry awards, he began work for Los Alamos National Laboratory where he helped develop alternative energy technologies and a number of other fields.\r\nA lover of Triflow, tractors, tinkering, talking, touring, teaching, technical tangents, tricks, tools, turnbuckles, technology, tea, and his milling machine, he took great delight in all things with a chronic penchant for burgers and root beer floats.\r\nIncredible teacher and mentor, he never tired of sharing his wealth of wisdom with many.\r\nPat not only touched hearts, he changed the lives of anyone who was fortunate enough to cross paths with him.\r\nHe is survived by his children, wife, siblings, and noble hound. \r\nA memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the United Church in Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Rd.\r\nThe family of Patrick Sean Turner has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-662-2400 or www.devargasfuneral.com
