Patricio "Pat" - Age 90 - Santa Cru Montoya

PATRICIO “PAT” MONTOYA, 90, a resident of Santo Nino passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; Juan and Amada Montoya; brothers, Andres, Mike, Lee, Sam, and Joe Montoya; sisters; Margarita, Eutimia and Selina Martinez. Mr. Montoya was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. He was the head of Pat Montoya’s family orchard and a member of the Española Valley Senior Center. He enjoyed gardening and his orchard. Mr. Montoya is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary V. Montoya of Santo Nino; children, Patrick Montoya and wife Juanita of Velarde, David Montoya and wife Anita of Denver, CO and Louella Montoya of Española; brother, Tony Montoya and wife Margie of Fairview; grandchildren, Michael Montoya and wife Elena of Velarde, Victoria Montoya of Española and Marisa Montoya of Denver, CO, Fabian and Emilio Valdez of Española; great-grandchildren, Darren and Ashlee of Velarde and Allison Montoya of Española and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz with the following serving as pallbearers, Michael Montoya, Fabian and Emilio Valdez, Jeff Martinez, Joe P. Montoya and Bobby Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers named are, Victoria, Marisa, Darren, Ashlee and Allison. The Montoya family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
