Patricia Salazar-Lewis

PATRICIA (PAT) SALAZAR-LEWIS, 53, a lifetime resident of El Llano passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015, following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Andres Salazar; brother, Alex Salazar; nephew, Lawrence Salazar; paternal grandparents, Antonio David and Romanita Salazar; maternal grandparents, Jose Maria and Juanita Coriz; mother-in-law, Connie Quintana-Lewis, and many other relatives and close friends.  Pat’s pride and joy were her children. Pat’s beauty, laughter and smile were like a ray of sunshine, when she would walk into the room. She loved the outdoors and loved spending time with friends and family. She was always there to help, listen or give advice whenever someone needed her, always reassuring them with that beautiful smile of hers. She lived her life to the fullest and was more than ready to become “Our Guardian Angel” when the lord called her home. We will miss our beloved “Pat”. Patricia is survived by her son, Jesse Lewis and daughter Alexus Lewis; father of her children, Frank Lewis Jr; mother, Grace Salazar; brother, Sammy Salazar and wife Shirley, sisters, Teresita Valdez and husband Michael, Rosemary Rivera and Romanita Salazar; nieces, Henrietta Valdez and fiancé David Montoya, Tracy Salazar and companion Leonard Archuleta, Ramona Moore, Valerie Martinez and husband Frankie, and Lorenza Romero; nephews, Michael Valdez Jr. and companion Crystal Garcia, Alex Mascarenas; father-in-law, Frank Lewis Sr.; brother-in-law, Felix Lewis; thirteen great nephews and nieces and one great great nephew soon to be born. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Michael Valdez Jr., David Montoya, John and Tim Martinez, Felix Lewis, Jesse Urbina, Alejandro Mascarenas and Andres Acosta, honorary pallbearers are  Margaret Archuleta (lifelong friend), Romanita Salazar, Valerie Martinez, Henrietta Valdez, Lorenza Romero, and Nancy Dominguez (Chaplin and close friend).  The family of Patricia (Pat) Salazar-Lewis has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477 – www.devargasfuneral.com
