Pamela Therese Maestas

Our family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Pamela Therese Maestas. She passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on the night of Sunday, September 15, 2024. Aged 54, she finally let herself rest after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was not only a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin – but a dear friend to many.

Although she was born at Kirtland Airforce base on March 17, 1970, she spent most of her life in Espanola, New Mexico, close to family. She proudly worked at N3B, earning her position as the Regulatory Documentation Team Manager before she (reluctantly) stepped down to an editor’s position during her battle. She was adored by her coworkers, not just for her strong work ethic, but her goofy heart that kept everyone motivated. May her memory continue to keep her work family strong.

Those closest to her, knew her love of Las Vegas, Olive Garden, and Duran Duran (specifically Simon Le Bon.) She was stubborn as a mule and by far the most organized of the family, giving her the nickname, “the boss.” Her family and friend’s heart’s ache without seeing her radiant smile, hearing her contagious laugh, or feeling her warm embrace. To say she will be missed, is a gross understatement. However, her overwhelming optimism, strength, and hope will live on in each life she touched.

She is preceded in death by mother Carmen Martinez.

She is survived by father Rudolpho Martinez, brothers Vincent and Matthew Martinez, sister-in-law Stephanie Martinez, daughter Cara Maestas, and future son-in-law Gabriel Vigil.

A Memorial Services will be held in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of Devargas Funeral Home on Thursday, September 26, 2024 starting at 5:00pm for public viewing, followed by a rosary at 6:00pm.

Her favorite flowers were peonies, however, if you would rather donate, please do so to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family would like to make a special thanks to Stephanie Martinez, Angelica Gallegos, and Felicia Aguilar for their dedication in making Pamela feel loved and comforted during her final days.
