PAMELA J. MACKEY, for all who knew Pam, her sparkling blue eyes and soft voice assured sincerity, honesty and authenticity. These qualities helped her to help others. She knew love; therefore she gave love. The relationship she had with her husband Jerome, whom she called the eternal love of her life, was well known. Their goodbye’s after every phone conversation was, “I love you my hun.” Pam greeted everyone with open arms; she was a hugger. Her endearing little sigh, a long, “ahh,” was akin to a Mamma cat, purring softly to her precious newborns, kind, caring and thoughtful are but a few of Pam’s attributes. She exemplified the best of humankind. If only all of us could be a little like her, the world would be a better place. She would humbly disagree to any profuse accolades, one of the many reasons why she was so admired and loved. Her physical presence will be sorely missed; however, her light will not be dimmed, thanks to the generous gifts she bestowed - love, honestly, loyalty, respect, thoughtfulness and charity. By following her example, we too can carry forward the “Essence” of Pam, an ever present reminder of her mark on the world. A beautiful baby girl named Pamela was born July 30, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her immediate family is husband Jerome Mackey; beloved dog, Leo, kitties Patches and Precious. Her extended family members are parents, Clyde and Ann Roach; sisters, Cathy Burris, Brenda White and Linda Major, brother, David Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly Adams-Mattson, and Sara Evans. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in memory of Pam Mackey to the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico. P.O. Box 5038, Santa Fe, New Mexico or at cffnm.org.
