Orlinda Romero

ORLINDA ROMERO, 79, a resident of Alcalde, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eloy Romero; parents, Luis and Rebecca Diaz; siblings, Bon Diaz, Tere Medina, Melva Lopez, Albert Diaz and Tommy Diaz. Orlinda was a fun loving person who enjoyed to sew, loved to go watch the Sundevils' Basketball games, as well as going to her grandchildren’s games.  She loved to cook, listen to music and loved to dance. Orlinda is survived by her children, Robert Romero of Lyden, Patsy Lara of Los Angeles, CA, Larry Romero (Sherice) of McKinney, TX, Kenny Romero Sr. (Cynthia) of Chimayo, Jimmy Romero of Hawthorn, CA and David Romero Sr. (Becky) of Gardena, CA; grandchildren, Gina Lara, Anthony Romero, Lawrence Romero, Michael Romero, Kenny Romero Jr. Vanessa Romero, David Romero Jr. and Jason Romero, and numerous other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde, with a burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in a meal following the burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall in Velarde.  The family of Orlinda Romero has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
