Orlinda Baca

Orlinda “Lindy” Baca, 79, a resident of Chimayo, NM, gained her wings in the early morning hours of January 27, 2025. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Romolo and Salome Baca; grandparents, Juan de Jesus and Epimenia Baca, and Reyes and Genara Trujillo; brothers, Delfin, Leopoldo, and Romolo Jr. Baca; and sisters, Bernie, Fabiola, and Della Baca. 

Lindy is survived by her loving sister, Margaret Sally Baca; sisters-in-law, Tomasita and Esther Baca; and nieces and nephews: Ray (Christella) Baca, Darleen (Jake) Vigil, Connie (Ed) Overly, Marvin Baca, Evelyn (Troy) Padilla, Valerie Baca, and Kathy (Harold) Sanchez. She also leaves behind several great and great-great nieces and nephews. 

Lindy was a blessing in our lives—a light that never dimmed. She left footprints of love and kindness on our hearts. 

As we say our temporary goodbyes, her legacy will live on in the garden of our memories, flourishing like blooming flowers and rustling leaves. 

Rest in peace, our sweet Lindy. You will be missed, but your spirit and light will forever shine in our hearts. 

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Lindy’s guardian angels, who provided steadfast support, kindness, and comfort during this difficult time. 

A special thanks to Andy Martinez, Gloria Sisneroz, Virginia Vigil, Joe and Helen Martinez, Father John, the nurses and doctors at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, and especially nurse "Nick" for offering strength, hope, and reassurance of our Heavenly Father’s presence. 

Your kindness and support meant so much and will forever be remembered. 

A Public Viewing will begin at 12:00 pm at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, on Friday, February 14, 2025, with Rosary to start at 1:00 pm, and Mass to follow at 2:00 pm.  Burial will take place at El Potrero Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo, NM

Pallbearers will be Ray Baca, Jake Vigil, Troy Padilla, Aaron Padilla, Andy Martinez, and Harold Jr. Sanchez.

Honorary pallbearers include Gloria Sisneroz, Monique Vigil, Briannah Vigil, Ryan Baca, Jeff Roybal, her additional nieces and nephews and all her medical doctors that strived to give Lindy a good quality of life.
