Ofilia M. Quintana, 90, a resident of San Pedro, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amadeo Quintana; brother, Eliseo Valdez Jr, sisters, Olivama Lopez, and Herminia Abeyta. Ofilia was born on February 18, 1923, she was a very loving and caring mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, and baking for every one that came through her door. She had a passion for sewing, and crocheting in her free time. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Ofilia is survived by her sons, Samuel Quintana, and Jonathan Quintana, daughters, Anita Quintana, and Cecilia Jimenez and husband Ed; granddaughter whom she raised, Esperanza Archuleta and Husband Santiago, Francesca Varga and husband Tyrus, Maclovia Quintana, great-grandchildren, Christopher Martinez, and Dezzi Martinez; sister-in-law, Josie Valdez, brother-in-law Joe G. Montoya and wife Gloria Montoya, and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada, with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m., mass of Christian burial to be celebrated following the rosary, with a burial to follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. The family of Ofilia Quintana has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
