Ofelia - Age 97 - Trampas - Lopez

OFELIA LOPEZ, 97, a resident of Trampas, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 peacefully with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Lopez; daughter, Cecilia Lopez; son, Estevan Lopez; parents, Alfredo and Marina Martinez; brothers, Augustine and Frutoso Pedro Martinez; son-in-law, George Visarraga and sister-in-law, Refugio Martinez. Ofelia became both mother and father when her husband went blind. She was a devote catholic, always saying her daily prayers. She loved her garden and her house was always open to everybody. She was a very caring person and a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Lopez is survived by her children, Oralia Visarraga of Peñasco, Mariquita Lopez of Trampas, Lucilla Ortega and husband Joe of Lyden, Leroy Lopez and wife Shirley, Frank Lopez and wife Bernie, Sylvia Lopez all of Trampas, Leo Lopez and wife Theresa of Santa Cruz, Bernice Montoya and husband Margarito of Vadito and Barbara Roybal and husband David of Rio Rancho; grandson raised by her, Chris Lopez and wife Doris of Cundiyo; sister-in-law, Liz Montoya of Ojo Caliente; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Jose de Gracia Catholic Church in Trampas. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Jose de Gracia Catholic Church in Trampas. Burial to follow at the Trampas Community Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Alonzo Visarraga, David Ortega, Peter and Eric Lopez, Fernando Montoya and Carlos Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
