Danny Martinez, 77 was born in Alire, New Mexico. A resident of Tierra Azul passed away on August 5, 2024. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael; daughter, Juanita Angela; parents, Juan de la Cruz and Fernanda Martinez; parents in-law Esmeraldo and Victoria Martinez; brothers Eugene, Valdemar, Johnny, Hernando, Felix, Larry, Manny, Sammy, Evelardo Ulibarri and sister Julie Martinez.

Danny had a few nicknames “Danny Burro” and “Imagine.” Danny attended school in Cebolla Elementary then graduated from Escalante High School. In 1967 he was drafted into the military then later employed by State Highway Department. He had a sense of humor and enjoyed watching Western movies. As a younger brother growing up, he would sing and play jokes with his sister Virginia.

Danny Martinez is survived by his wife of 52 years Loyda, daughter Jennifer (Val) Nieto of Albuquerque; sons, Jacob and Fernando of Tierra Azul; sister Virginia of Espanola, brothers Moises (Stella) from Utah, Harry and Mario of Tierra Amarilla; sister-in-law Ella and Cynthia; grandchildren Samantha Martinez, Ashley Manzanares, Anjelo Terrazas; great grandchildren Dominic and Cash; aunt Rosalie Bustos of Espanola and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. 

 Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, August, 25, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Union Hall (206 Guachupange Road) in Espanola, NM.  Private Burial will take place at a later date.
