Norma Anna Barela

Norma Anna Barela, 30, from Espanola, NM, passed away on October 9, 2023. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and caregiver.

She is preceded in death by her great grandparents Filadelfio and Felipita Barela, Lalo and Cloudina Salazar, God-grandparents Andres and Nora Salazar, special uncle Gilbert and Dora Barela, Tia Cleotilde DeAguero, cousins Louie, Pancho, Ricky, Felisha, and God sister Mary Barela, cousins Juan Lopez, Armando and Lino Quintana, great grandma Theresita Atencio, grandparents Walter and Rose Stroop, uncles Brian and Bobby Stroop, cousins Anthony and Adam Atencio.

She is survived by her son Albert Rodriguez Jr., daughter Penelope Rodriguez, husband Albert Rodriguez, mother Flor Barela (Jacob Olivas), brother James Barela-Fernandez (Elijah Fernandez-Barela), half-brothers Aaron and Adrian Stroop, grandmother Rosa Salazar, aunt Clarissa Rodriguez (Tony), sister Melissa Rodriguez (Dominic Vigil) and their kids Fabian, Jaylyn, sister Andrea Rodriguez (Steven Pacheco) and their son Andreyes Noah, brother Tony Rodriguez, like a brother Eric Martinez, in-laws Bernadine and Albert Rodriguez, brothers in law Tino and Angel Martinez, brother-in-law Robert and April Rodriguez, Eric Rodriguez,  Grandma Angie Ulibarri, special cousin Wally Stroop (Wally World), and a lot of other relatives and friends.

A public viewing and rosary will be on Thursday October 12, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Parish in Chimayo, NM. Burial to follow at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo, NM.

Pallbearers are Jacob Olivas, Tony Rodriguez, TJ Rodriguez, Melissa Rodriguez, Andrea Rodriguez, Elijah Fernandez, Aaron and Adrian Stroop.

Honorary Pallbearers are Albert, Penelope, Albert Jr., James Barela, Fabian and Jaylyn Vigil, Andreyes Noah Pacheco, and Eric Martinez.
