Nora Maestas

Nora W. Maestas, Age 86, a resident of Hernandez passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Gusman Maestas Sr. parents Margarito & Sirila War and brothers Alex & Armando War. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her two sisters, Andrellita Espinoza, and Virginia Vigil and 5 brothers, Salamon & Maria Elena War, Margarito & Ida War, Archie & Isabel War, Audoro War, Tony & Florence War, sisters-in-law, Angie DeSantos, and Bernie Gallegos; her Children, Ines & Jose Gutierrez, Joe Maestas,  Viola Gutierrez, Michael  Maestas, Manuel Maestas, Sammy & Magdalena Maestas, Gusman Jr & Yolanda Maestas, Ivan Maestas, Raymond & Gloria Maestas, & Jeremy Maestas; grandchildren: Juan & Nicole Maestas, Maggie Gutierrez,  Brandy Perry, Anna Marie Gutierrez- Salazar & husband Flavio, Miguel Gutierrez & wife Nyana, Tony Gutierrez & wife Shelly, Daniel Maestas & companion Janaisa, David Gutierrez, Joshua Maestas, Marcos Maestas, Marissa Maestas, & Bryan Calzadillas; great grand Children: Dominic, Brayden, Aubrey, Jacob, Kailei, Wyatt, Taliah, Markia, & Zakaya, as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. Nora was an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was centered on her love for God and family. She was a devoted Catholic serving many years as a member of the perpetual adoration chapel and the coro de la Sagrada Familia. Public visitation will begin on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers: Juan Maestas, Tony Gutierrez, Joshua & Daniel Maestas, David Gutierrez, Marcos Maestas, & Bryan Calzadillas.
