Nicholas Isaiah Manzanares 18, passed away suddenly on September 22, 2024, in Algodones, NM. Born on December 25, 2005, to Pablo Manzanares and Blossom Cordova, Nicholas was a senior at Pojoaque Valley High School, where he was not only a committed student but also a passionate basketball player. His dedication on the basketball court was evident as he continuously worked to improve his skills and foster team spirit.
Nicholas, affectionately known as Nick, will be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter that brought joy to everyone around him. His hobbies included not only playing basketball but also riding side-by-sides and spending quality time with his family and friends, which were some of his favorite pastimes. Nick also enjoyed cooking, eating, and fixing things.
He leaves behind a loving family: his father, Pablo and stepmother, Trish; his mother, Blossom and her partner, Davy Martinez; his brother, Bryan and his wife, Annette; his sister, Ashley; his stepbrother, Isaac; and stepsister WrayAnne, and his nephews Eli, Mayson and Elijah, and nieces Carmen and Daniella. His grandparents, Fred and Berlinda Cordova, along with Pete and Ramona Herrera, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, also survive him. Nick also leaves behind his cherished Pojoaque Elks Basketball family.
Nick's life, though brief, was marked by his warmth, camaraderie, and the genuine connections he made with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A public visitation will take place on Monday September 30, 2024 at 4:30 PM in the Sangre Se Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Ben Lujan Gymnasium of Pojoaque Valley High School.
