Nelson J. Sanchez

Nelson J. Sanchez, age 50, a lifelong resident of Lyden, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 22, 2022.
Nelson loved spending his time with his sons, friends and family. Nelson loved the outdoors, namely the summertime where he loved tending to his gardens and his beloved acequia. Nelson sure did enjoy the “Sierra” come fall time as well.
Nelson is preceded in death by his beloved father, Richard & brother, Mark. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Antonio & Sarita & maternal grandparents, Aniceto & Viola Martinez. Nelson is also preceded in death by his Tio Leandro, Tia Tina Vigil, Tio Tom Saiz, aunts Carol & Yvette Martinez and cousin Jerome Sanchez.

Nelson is survived by his loving wife, Pamela of 26 years, sons, Bryan, Matthew, Victor, Aaron & granddaughter, Essence. Nelson is survived by his mother Rommie & brother Jason (Rhonda). Tia Rose Saiz, Tio Leo (Yolanda), Tio Johnny Martinez & Tia Ethel Martinez-Diaz. Special nephew, Cruz Sanchez, special niece, his Ayannah (Yannie) Sanchez & special cousin whom he considered as a sister, Anita Diaz-Serrano. Niece & nephew, Autumn & Lucas Sanchez. Cousins, Doreen Valdez (Martin), Gabriel & Victoria Sanchez. Padrinos, Reyes & Isabelle Salazar & numerous other relatives & friends.

Services for Nelson will be March 7, 2022 with a Mass at 10:30am at the San Juan De Bautista Catholic Church in San Juan with a Burial to follow at the Velarde Cemetery.

Serving the family of Nelson J. Sanchez as pallbearers will be: Bryan, Matthew, Victor, Aaron, Cruz & Gabriel Sanchez, Johnny Martinez & Ray Garcia. Serving the family of Nelson J. Sanchez as honorary pallbearers will be: Jason, Ayannah & Victoria Sanchez, Doreen & Martin Valdez, Tommy Saiz, Eric, Ryan & Nicholas Salazar, Ralph Garcia & Geno Rodella.
