Nancy K. Martinez, a resident of Cebolla, NM was called by the Lord to be by his side on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  Nancy was born in August 5, 1961 in Denver, Colorado to Alexander Mayes and Mary Brock.  She grew up in Silver City, New Mexico where she graduated from Silver City High School.  Nancy and Frank were married on February 14, 1986.  Nancy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Frank R. Martinez of the home; son, Michael Martinez and daughter in-law Amber Martinez; two grandchildren, Jereme Martinez 10 and Ciara Martinez 7 of Alamogordo, NM; son Joshua Martinez of Albuquerque, NM and Mary Kathryn Martinez of Las Cruces, NM.; her mother, Mary Sellers of Alamogordo, NM; sister, Debra Murphy of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Arlana Murphy of Albuquerque, NM and her mother and father in-law, Adela and David Martinez of Cebolla.
Nancy worked for the US Forest Service for several National Forests in New Mexico, as a District Clerk, Forest Voucher Examiner, Wildland Fire Logistics Dispatcher and many other critical roles within the Agency.
Nancy was a child at heart, she saw beauty in everything from Sun Rises to Sun Sets, sunflowers, tall pine trees, running water and living at the Family Ranch.  She especially loved her Husband, Children and Grandchildren.  Nancy will be missed dearly by all.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Santo Niño de Atocha Mission in Cebolla with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date. The family of Nancy K. Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
