\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n NADINE “NAY” KATHERINE MARIE CATA, 21, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 following a sudden illness. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Matthew and Felipita Cata; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Luberta Garcia; maternal great-grandparents, Carpio and Gertrude Trujillo. Nadine is survived by her fiancé, Daniel “Danny” Maestas of El Guache; father, Edgar Cata and wife Reyann Nastacio; mother, Debra Cata and husband Ryan Calabaza; sister, Jackie Cata and fiancé Paul Abeyta III; step-brother, Brandon Calabaza, Butterfly Garcia, Curt Garcia and wife Valerie, Darron Garcia and wife Roseann; maternal grandparents, Richard Garcia and wife Norma; paternal grandmother, Linda Maestas; aunts and uncles, Frances Cata, Patrick Cata and wife Irene, Doris Vigil and husband Tony, Rosemary Swazo and husband Sonny, Alfred Maestas Jr. and fiancé Stacy Chacon, Anthony Maestas and wife Evelyn, James Curley, Mary Bridges, Isabel and Mary Agnes Trujillo, Claudina Garcia, Ernestina Gibson and Alvin Toya and wife Marie; God-parents, Roger Trujillo and Frances Cata; nieces and nephews, Isaiah, Marissa, Angel, Jasmine and numerous family members and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the family residence in Ohkay Owingeh. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Ohkay Owingeh Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Patrick Cata Jr., Butterfly Garcia, Brian Cata, Adam Maestas, Paul Abeyta III., Darron Garcia, Alfred Jeremy Maestas and Isaiah Salazar. Honorary pallbearers named are, Curt Garcia, Amanda Atencio and Paul Gabaldon. The Cata family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n
