Nabor - Age 79 - Cordova - Romero, Jr.

Nabor Romero, Jr., 79, a resident of Cordova, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nabor and Octaviana Romero; brothers, Ramon and Filemon Romero, sisters, Cora Sandoval and Ernestina Romero. Nabor was a barber and loved hunting, fishing, and carpentry. He was an all-around workaholic. He worked for uranium mines in Grants and was a devoted family man. Mr. Romero is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Oclides Romero; children, Alex G. Romero, Becky and husband Warren Ormsby and Sally and husband Mickey VanCuren; brothers, Isabro and Joe Romero; grandsons, Warren, Jason and Stephen Ormsby and Zachary and Kevan VanCuren; great-grandson, Josiah Ormsby and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Warren, Jason and Stephen Ormsby and Zachary and Kevan VanCuren and Johnny Martinez. The family of Nabor Romero Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
