MONICA LEE NARANJO, 56, our beautiful beloved Monica, born May 4, 1960 went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 12, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Juan and Elisa Naranjo, maternal grandparents, Pablo and Anita Gonzales; father, Pete Naranjo; sister, Theresa Naranjo. Monica loved her family, collecting purses and everything about Elvis Presley. She also loved to take pictures. She graduated from McCurdy High School in 1979. Monica was a very loving and kind person. All who knew her loved and appreciated her. Monica is survived by her mother, Carmen Naranjo; sister, Bernadette Montoya and partner Jimmy, brother, John Naranjo and wife Ruth, sister, Elizabeth Pena and husband Chris; nephews, Rick and partner Aryssa, Allen Montoya and partner Ana, John Jr., Michael, Scott and partner Lexie, Chris Naranjo, nieces, Shevonne, Leah and partner Clay, Vanessa Pena, Kandice and partner Josh, Theresa and Chantelle Naranjo, great-nieces, Angelyssa and partner Damion, Gianna, Devyn, Aniyah, great-nephews, Jalen, Miles and Julian, and numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Monica will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank everyone for the kind words, prayers, flowers, visits, food and well wishes from everyone in our time of great sadness. Also thank you to DeVargas Funeral Home for helping us in our time of need and a thank you to the wonderful EMT’s for their great care and kindness given to Monica. Thank you to Monica’s physicians, who each showed their professionalism and sincere care. Public visitation will begin on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family of Monica Lee Naranjo has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
