MOISES ROMERO, 93, a resident of Cordova, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beronis, father, Victor Romero; brothers, Felix, and Jeremias, sisters, Cipia and Adonelia, son, Adauto, grandson, Brian Romero, brother-in-law, Nick, Juan and Esequiel, sisters-in-law, Mabel, and Precedes. Moises served in the Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going for wood and farming. He loved being with his grandkids. He is survived by his beloved wife, Matilde Romero of 71 years; children, Consuelo, Imelda, Silviano, Ida (Adrian), Ernesto, Sandra (Daniel); grandkids, Yvonne (Ray), Carol (Ronald), Michael (Susana), Matthew, Norman (Sharon), Rita (James), Markie, Adrian (Sonya), Gladys, Joelle (Daniel), Sammy, Joey (Anita), Tere (Fernando), Victoria (Jamie), Charlie (Jennifer), Flor, Pedro (Anna), Rebecca (Earl), and Jaime (Bianca); 38 great-grandkids and 11 great-great-grandkids; brother, Arcenio (Bernie), sister, Priscila; Norman, Yvonne, Joey, Peter, Jaime, Flor, and his La Consentida Victoria Romero all whom he raised as his own. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the Cordova Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Michael, Peter, Jaime, Norman, Charlie, Adrian, and Joey, honorary pallbearers will be all of his granddaughters and his great-grandchildren.
