Miranda Esperanza Martinez, 29, a resident of Lyden passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, August 20, 2010. She was preceded in death by her grandpa; Eliseo M. Valdez, aunt; Diana Martinez; maternal great-grandparents, Jose and Belen Trujillo; paternal great-grandparents, Luis and Doloritas Montoya; great-grandparents, Edwardo and Josephina Maestas. Miranda is survived by her children: Dominic Gallegos and Evanissa Martinez both of Lyden; parents: Robert and Elaine Martinez of Lyden; sisters: Juanita Romero and husband Lawrence of Española, Leticia Martinez of Lyden; special nephew and niece: Gabriel Romero of Española, Isabella Martinez of Lyden; maternal grandmother, Josie Valdez of Española; paternal grandparents, Remigio and Ofelia Martinez of La Puebla; a very dear friend, Shawn Gallegos of Hernandez; close aunts & uncles who were very dear in her life Johnell and husband Robert Young, Leonard Valdez and wife Cindy, Larry Valdez and wife Rosalie, Joseph Valdez and wife Rachael, Jackie Valdez, Gerald Martinez, “Nins” Leonard Martinez, and Marty Martinez. Many other loving relatives & friends too numerous to mention. Public visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will follow at the La Puebla Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Shawn Gallegos, Joseph JoJo Valdez, Joshua Valdez, Joseph Torrez, Elgin Mendez and Nathan Gonzalez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Dominic Gallegos, Leonard Martinez, Eva Grant and Sonya Valdez.
