Mike Age - 80 - Chama Garcia

Mike Garcia, 80, a resident of Chama, NM passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on February 12, 1931 in Durango, Colorado to Tomas and Rafaelita Garcia and was raised in Canjilon. Mike and his wife Euletta “Billie” made their home and raised their family in the Bay area of California where Mike worked for Chevron research for 32 years. After his retirement Mike returned to Northern New Mexico settling in Chama with his wife Sylvia. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his 2 wives, Euletta and Sylvia Garcia; parents, Tomas and Rafaelita Garcia; brothers: Rosendo “Ross” Garcia and David Garcia; sister, Livie Flores. Mike is survived by his children: Linda Wright, Jesse Garcia and wife Debra; grandchildren: Linda, Chlise, René, Eric, Jerry, Reyes, Frank, Fred, Jesse and Ryan; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters: Eulalia Martinez, Alice Nuño, Ernie Sanchez and Elena (Helen) Barela; brother, Lito Garcia; many nieces, nephews & other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Chama Community Church. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chama Community Church with Pastor Jimmy Martinez, officiating. Interment will be in the Chama Community Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
