Michael Joseph Roybal “Compound”, 61, a resident of Albuquerque formally of Pojoaque passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from a sudden illness. Mr. Roybal retired from the state Highway Dept. as a surveyor and auto cad professional. As A young man he participated in many sports, and as an adult he was an avid Lobo fan. He graduated from Pojoaque High School in 1968 and attended New Mexico State University. He received an Associate’s degree at Santa Fe Community College in Auto Cad with Honors. Mr. Roybal was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose Remijio and Juanita Branch Valdez; Jose Ascencion and Luisa Roybal. He is survived by his parents ,Jose Ray and Ruby Roybal of Jacona; Brothers/sisters: Barbara Roybal and companion Jody Howell of Pojoaque, Raymond Lawrence Roybal and wife Barbara Lee of Pojoaque, Arleen Roybal and husband Randy Teel of Pojoaque; children: Joshua and Jacqueline; mother of his children, Cindy Grill all of La Cienega; grandchildren: Michael and Alexandria; special friends: Lloyd Vialpando and Anita Sewell; numerous uncles/aunts, nephews/nieces and other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque with burial to follow at Nambe Catholic Cemetery.
