MICHAEL HAROLD SALAZAR, 64, a resident of Española, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Guadalupe Salazar and Teresita Salazar Jaramillo; step-father, Fermin Jaramillo; paternal grandparents, Jose Ramon Salazar and wife Francisquita de Sales Atencio; maternal grandparents who raised him since he was an infant, Filomeno and Maria Anita Salazar; brother, James Ronald Salazar; uncles, John Block, Ramoncito Salazar, Tim Salazar III, Orlando Salazar and Phil Salazar. Mr. Salazar is survived by his children, Michael Christopher Salazar and wife Kristel and Dustin and Kristina Salazar; grandchildren, Austin and Audrey Salazar of Littleton, CO; brothers and sisters, Samuel Andrew Salazar and wife Angie, Stephen Salazar and wife Darlene, Donna and Joe, Marian Diaz and husband Phil, Larry Salazar and wife Debbie, Joey Salazar and wife Marina, Jake Salazar and wife Dolly, Peter Salazar and wife Carol and Jeanette Green and husband Craig; aunts and uncles, Eloisa Block, Bertha Salazar, Sara Maestas Martinez, David Salazar and wife Silvia, Arthur Salazar, Connie Thompson, Mary Agnes Gallegos and husband Andres, Rosina Salazar, Alice Sandoval and husband Juan and Angie Roybal Salazar; Ronnie Salazar’s daughter, Lydia and husband Phil; nieces and nephews, Francisco Steve Salazar and wife Dolores, Sammy and Julia Salazar, Phyllis Miller and husband John, Sandra Diaz and Bridget and Frank Martinez; nephew, Fabian Diaz; great-niece, Joslyn and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Jimmy Lujan, Phil Vigil, Floyd Lucero, Christian Wren, Lupe Martinez and Anthony Romano. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Eddie Vigil and Larry Lucero.
