MICHAEL M. MARTINEZ, JR., 43, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gina Martinez; infant sister; paternal grandparents, Robert and Alice Martinez; maternal grandfather, Jose E. Duran, Jr.; uncle, Jason Duran; cousins, Gary Duran, Jr. and Francisco Martinez. He loved to write poetry, play guitar, cook and enjoyed music. He loved his children, his family and his 2 dogs. He was very generous and kind hearted. Mr. Martinez is survived by his children, Michael Martinez III, Christopher Martinez (Caitlin) and Angelica Martinez; granddaughter, Nevaeh Martinez; parents, Michael, Sr. and Sandra Martinez; sister, Michelle (Paul); grandmother, Maria Edna Duran; uncles, Gary Duran, Sr., Robert O. Martinez, Clyde Martinez (Della), Tommy Martinez and Anthony Martinez (Lynette); aunts, Joanne Baca, Doris Gurule, Nancy Garcia, Berlina Ramirez; special nieces, Makalyla and Arianna; father-in-law, Ray Montoya and numerous other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery in Cordova. Serving the family as pallbearers are his children, Michael Martinez III, Christopher Martinez, and Angelica Martinez. The family of Michael M.
