Melvin S. Gurule, 61, a resident of Llano Largo, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose F. Gurule and brother in law, Rick Muniz. Melvin served proudly in the U.S. Army, who took part in the Weapons Infantry. He worked as a professional carpenter for a variety of project including custom homes and commercial projects. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and spending time in the Santa Barbara Mountains. The love for his family especially his daughters and grandchildren were unconditional. From camping trips to fishing, he was always creating special moments that will last a lifetime. He was always there to help those that he cared for and who needed him. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Melvin is survived by his companion, Natalie F. Yawea; daughters, Crystal Gurule and husband Nate Quiver and Valerie Gurule-Fierro and husband Andres Fierro; mother, Dora Gurule; sisters, Erma Muñiz and Maryann Velasquez and husband Rueben; brothers, Antonio Gurule and wife Louella and Paul Gurule and wife Dorothy; step-daughters, Pearl Simbolo and Gwen Simbolo; grandchildren, Damian Quiver and Braylon Quiver; step-grandchildren, Dominic Simbolo and Jonathan Simbolo; favorite grandpuppies, Ginger and Diesel Fierro; nephew, Christopher “Ricky” Muñiz; nieces, Natalia Gurule, Nicole Gurule, and Kristina Velasquez; best friends, Sammy Sanchez, Joseph Valdez and numerous other loving family and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Penasco, with a Memorial mass to follow at 1:30 p.m. Reception will be held at the Peñasco Community Center following the Mass. .The family of Melvin S.
