Melvin - Age 44 - La Puebla - Martinez

Melvin C. Martinez – Age 44 a resident of La Puebla passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010. Melvin suffered a lifelong illness. He was preceded in death by his two sons: Derek and Devin Martinez; paternal grandparents: Fidel and Fidelita Martinez; maternal grandparents: Asencion and Esther Martinez. He was currently employed with the New Mexico Department of Transportation. He is survived by his parents: Gilbert and Dilia Martinez of Cuarteles; brothers: Rodney Martinez and wife Michelle and Tim Martinez and wife Jennifer all of La Puebla, Dominic Martinez and wife Stephanie and Matthew Martinez and wife Tina; 2 Godchildren, Aaron Martinez of La Puebla and Miquaela Martinez of Cuarteles; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Wake services will be held on Friday June 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. also at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Interment will follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Randy Martinez, Rodney James Martinez, Jr., Aaron Martinez, Miquaela Martinez, Richard Montoya and Harold Montoya. The family requests that Memorial contributions in Melvin’s name may be made to the Northern New Mexico Crisis Center at 577 El Llano Rd., Espanola, New Mexico 87532.
