Melva Lopez, 81, a resident of Los Luceros, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Rebecca Diaz; husband, Edward Lopez; grandson, Michael Herrera; brothers, Bon Albert and Tommy Diaz, sister, Teresita Medina; brother-in-law, Bobby Romero. Melva was very loving and compassionate. She was strong and hardworking, she retired from the Espanola Public Schools as a Security Officer and from Santa Maria El Mirador as a care giver. She went above and beyond what was expected of her. She made sure that everyone was fed and never left without eating her most delicious food. Her Children meant the world to her. Being around Melva, there was never dull moment. Always joking around, she made a joke out of everything. She will be missed!!!!! Melva is survived by her daughters, Renee (Randy), Becky Romero, and Myra Lopez, sons, Marty Lopez (Christine) and Philbert Lopez; grandchildren, Monica Sanchez, Priscilla Herrera, Phil Lopez Jr., and Isaiah Lopez who she raised as a son; great-grandchildren, Brian, Richard and Natalya; sisters, Orlinda Romero, Helen Bustos (Steve), Dorothy Martinez (Clyde) and Estelle Diaz (Randy), brothers, Franklin Diaz (Lucille) and Archie Diaz (Elisa), care Giver, Lori.
