Melisendro “Mel” Duran Jr. “Skidro”, 62, a resident of Chamita/La Posta passed away peacefully with his wife and family at his side on Sunday, September 15, 2013. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Trujillo, and Pablo Duran; nephew J.D. Mascarenas Jr.; paternal grandparents, Jose Todocio and Lucia Duran, maternal grandparents, Pedro and Maria Frutosa Sanchez, uncles and aunts, Andronico and Sergio Duran, Gregorita Rael, Cleo Barela Juanita Burunda, Laura Martinez, Lola Bardusco, Dennis, Willie and wife Lydia Sanchez, LouAnna Sanchez, and Viola McTeigue. Mel was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy who enjoyed spending time working on his Harleys, working in his shop or spending time with his animals. His pals Obama, Tofacita and Little Man his dogs who never left his side. He was always willing to help people in need. He cared greatly about his family and their well being. Mel is survived by his loving wife Marylou, sons Chris, Adrian, and granddaughter Diamond Duran, parents Melisendro Sr. and Eugenia Duran, brothers, and sisters, Betty Espinoza (Manuel); his twin brother Gene Duran (companion Stella), Abel, Connie Montoya (Michael), LouAnna Maestas (Milton), Joe Duran (Robin), Rosie Mascarenas (J.D.), Pat Duran (Mari), Pauline Rael (Rubel), and Brenda Marquez (Rogelio). Aunts and uncles Aselia Sandoval, Richard Sanchez, Anita Ullibari and Carolina Sanchez, nieces and nephews Brian, Conrad, Diego, Everett, Angela, Vanessa, JV, Jolyn, Alejandra, Michele, Carlos, Jose, Tony, Miguel, Gabriel, Goldyne, Melissa, Diondra, Aracely, Emerald and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family of Melisendro Duran has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. \r\n
