Melisendro Lopez – Age 84 – a resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, outdoors man, and loved to talk politics. Melisendro was preceded in death by his parents; Noberto and Carlota Lopez; sister: Alicia Martinez; nephew: Chris Martinez; grandson: Angelo Lopez; brother: Tony Lopez. He is survived by his wife Arcelia Lopez of Santa Fe; daughters: Barbara Garcia and husband Joe of Tesuque, Corrine Rodriguez of Santa Fe; sons: Bert Lopez and wife Tessie of La Puebla, Jose Rodriguez and companion Hope Benavidez, Charlie Lopez and wife Roxana of La Puebla and Ted Lopez of La Puebla; daughters: Maria and husband Joseph Anaya and Monique Garcia; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Merced Lopez and wife Amelia of Española; sister-in-law, Elvira and husband Johnny Archuleta & numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial will follow at the La Puebla Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Jose Rodriguez, Joe Anaya, Bert Lawrence Lopez, Ted Lopez Jr., Juan Marquez and Carlo Lopez.
