Max A. Lucero Jr ., 49, a resident of La Puebla, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born on July 27, 1969 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Max was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Leopoldo Lucero and Tomasita Duran; paternal grandparents, Agneda Chavez and Ernesto Lucero; maternal grandparents, Linora Salazar and Anastacio Silva and uncles, Chris and Joe Silva. Max was a very talented artist who was passionate about capturing life through his pastel works. He enjoyed all of life’s natural beauties and felt most at peace being in the outdoors hiking, biking, fly fishing and camping with his friends and family. He was always accompanied by his two dogs, Bandit and Daisy. Max was the most loving and caring person who loved all forms of life. It brought him great joy to make others laugh. Max loved working on computers and always enjoyed helping others with their computers as well as anything else they needed. His favorite saying to his wife and daughters was, “I love you…tomorrow,” because he said, “there’s always a tomorrow, so I’ll love you forever.” He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Max was a loving husband to his wife, Linda M. G.- Lucero; a dedicated father to their four beautiful daughters, Luvina, Laetitia, Dominique and Maxine Lucero; a loved son to Max and Dolores Lucero; an adored brother to Rick Lucero (Rochelle), Eileen LaGarde (Joe), Leo Lucero, Lorenzo Lucero (Melinda) and Mario Lucero (Roberta); he was a proud uncle to Danielle, Gabrielle, Analisa, Martina, Aasha, Xavier, Lorenzo Jr., Nastasia, Maddox, Jeremiah, Joanna, Mia, Christopher, Luke, Natalie (Steven) and Goddaughter, Arianna; he was greatly loved by his in-laws, Isabell and Donald Archuleta and David Garcia; brother-in-law, Samuel Garcia (Maria) and an abundance of aunts, uncles and cousins that he loved very much. Public visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at the La Puebla Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Rick Lucero, Leo Lucero, Lorenzo Lucero, Mario Lucero, Christopher Trujillo and Luke Garcia. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be all his nieces and nephews. The family of Max A. Lucero Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
