We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Max Quintana of San Pedro. Max gained his angel wings on March 8, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness.
Max was born in Trinidad, Colorado to Julia Passarelli Quintana and Pete Quintana.
Max loved his work and was never tired of it. Up until his illness, he had continued to work. Max had a strong work ethic. He enjoyed speaking with people and helping them out. Max worked for New Mexico Taxation and Revenue, where he later retired from. He served as Deputy Assessor under Fred Vigil and had also served as Probate Judge for Rio Arriba County. Most currently he was a private contractor for New Mexico Tax and Revenue.
Max had an enormous amount of love for his family and friends. His love was unconditional. It came with no strings attached.
Max is preceded by his parents Pete and Julia Quintana, his son Peter Quintana, granddaughter Candace Quintana, his brothers Bobby, Julian, Tim, Roland, and Gene Quintana.
Max is survived by his wife Mickie Quintana, sons Max, Michael, and Daniel Quintana, daughters Monica Garcia and Andrea Quintana (Dion), grandchildren Alicia Quintana, Deanna Lyons, Airiana Rael, Michael, Brandon and Brittney Quintana, Eric and Andrew Garcia, Anisha Rodriquez, Antonio Quintana, Devin and Deegan Lucero and six great grandchildren, his brother Joseph Quintana (Rosella), sisters Patricia Murray, Julia Martinez, Cristella Maestas (Leland), Dolores Martinez and Irene Martinez (Max), and sister-in-law Patricia Quintana. Max is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Wake Service is scheduled for Monday March 13, 2023 at 6:00 PM at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM.
Serving as Pallbearers are Michael and Brandon Quintana, Eric and Andrew Garcia, Antonio Quintana and Ralph Martinez.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Devin Lucero and Deegan Lucero.
My Husband, Our Dad (Pops), Our Grandpa Max, Our brother, Our uncle, will be greatly missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on.
