It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend Matthew Martinez, age 61, a resident of Española, New Mexico, passed away on February 16, 2025. 

Matthew was a hard worker who enjoyed helping others. He was always the handyman for those who were in need. He always wore a smile and made everyone laugh with his jokes. He enjoyed coming home to his mother’s, going for wood with his brothers, spending time with family, and most of all eating wings. 

Matthew was preceded in death by his father Eraldo Martinez; baby sister Marilena; uncle Antonio Martinez; brothers Leonard and Nobert Martinez; and Godson Kirby Martinez. 

Matthew is survived by his mother Adela Martinez; daughters Valerie (Samuel) Chavez, Rachel (Martin), Miranda (Taylor )Blanton and Dominique Dale Hernandez; son Matthew (Vicky )Martinez; and 11 grandchildren; brothers Eligio Martinez, Harold (Berna) Martinez and Felipe (Gloria) Martinez; sisters Ramoncita Romero, Marie (Antonio) Barela, Diana (Dario) Villalobos, Helen (Kenneth) Martinez, Della (Al) Saiz and Juanita (Sabino Salazar); sisters-in-law Beatrice Martinez and Darlene Martinez; and numerous nephews and nieces.

 A Rosary will take place at Canjilon Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 9:30 am, a Mass at 10:45 am, with a burial to follow .
