Mary "Mella" Age - 78 - Española Salazar

Mary “Mella” Salazar, 78, a resident of Española passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 18, 2013. Mary was most known for her cooking skills, she loved sewing and doing arts & crafts. She loved being in the mountains camping picking piñon and spending time with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. Salazar, Sr.; daughters: Patricia Ruiz and Melissa Salazar; nephew raised like a son, Manuel Moya; and parents; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Mary is survived by her children: Andrea Garcia and husband Joe of Los Lunas, Larry Salazar and wife Debby of Española, Peter Salazar and wife Carol of Española, Jose Salazar, Jr. and wife Marina, Jacob Salazar and wife Dolly, Jeanette Greene and husband Craig all of Albuquerque, Jeremy Trujillo of Española; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Moya of Chama; special niece & nephew, Mary and Fred Jaramillo of Pagosa Springs, CO; numerous other loving relatives & friends. A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery in Española with all of her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
