MARY L. MAGDALENA MARTINEZ, 91, a resident of Ojo Sarco, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 1, 2019.  Mary was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Luciano Martinez; children, Elizabeth, Mary Lou, Arthur, Felix, Luie, Ralph, and Dwayne; grandchildren, Tessie, Deven, Lil Luie; parents, Rafael and Bersabe Leyba; siblings, Eluid, Felix, Dilio and Armarante Leyba. She was a loving caring wife, mother, and grandmother that loved her family unconditionally. Mary loved making jewelry, quilts, listening to KDCE, loved the casino and was a wonderful cook.  She was also the family’s primary source for “consejos” and guidance. Mary is survived by her husband, Felix Martinez; children, Eloisa Velasquez (Del), Flora Romero (Elmer), Jake Martinez (Catherine), Petrita Romero (Arnold), Vivian Romero, Albert Martinez (Angela), Eloy Martinez (Sherri), Carlos Martinez, (Lori), and Gloria Martinez; special grandchild “mi corazoncito” Jaylene; 29 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Santo Thomas Catholic Church in Ojo Sarco, with a burial to follow at the Santo Thomas Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be; Alex, Daniel, Jon, Jason, Jordan and Angelo.  All her other grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Meal will follow the burial at the Ojo Sarco Community Center. The family of Mary L.
