MARY HELEN SILVA-WATCHMAN, 56, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Maria Elia Silva and sister, Gloria Silva. Mary Helen was an outgoing and caring person with a big heart. She loved to help her family and friends in any way that she could. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and going to the hot springs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Kurtis and Kee Watchman of Arizona; Victor Romero of Peñasco; and Vivianna Silva of Española; companion, Fred Lopez of Española; brothers and sisters, Dora Martinez and husband Leland of Las Lunas, Liza Silva and Porfie Romero of Denver, Elsie Silva of Española, Thomas Silva and wife Michelle of Santo Niño, Gloria Silva of Chimayo and Elmer Silva of El Llano; grandchildren, Keisha, Dominic, Jayla and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., with a burial to follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo. The family of Mary Helen Silva-Watchman has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
