MARY G. CAIN, 95, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cain Sr. and sons, William “Billy” Cain Jr. and Warren Cain. She was an award winning potter and most recent recipient of the S.W.A.I.A., a lifetime achievement award. She taught her children and grandchildren the art of pottery making that was taught to her by her mother, Christina Naranjo and grandmother, Sarafina Tafoya. Mrs. Cain is survived by her children, Marjorie Tafoya Tanin (Cyril), Douglas Tafoya, Tina Diaz and partner (Robert West), Joy Cain and partner (Chris Folkmer), Linda Cain; sister, Mida Tafoya; brother, Edward Naranjo; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the family home in Santa Clara Pueblo. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. also at the family home in Santa Clara Pueblo. Burial to follow at the Santa Clara Pueblo Cemetery.
