Mary Age - 25 - Chimayo Barela

Mary Barela, 25, a resident of Chimayo passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Atencio; great-grandparents, Philadelphio and Felipita Barela; grandma, Mary Dolores Barela; aunt, Darlene Barela; uncles: Ricky,, Louie and Dennis Barela; cousin, Armando Quintana. Mary is survived by her mother, Christine Barela of Española; god-parents: Isaac and Anna Barela; brothers/sisters: Leroy Atencio of Chimayo, Andrew Atencio and companion Amanda Sherwood of Chimayo, Daniella Barela of Española, Amanda and Monica Franco of Española; nieces/nephews: Leroy and Xavier Atencio, Aliyah, Jonnae, LeAnna and Josiah Atencio and LeAndra Martinez; grandpa, Gilbert Barela and companion Dora of Chimayo; aunt, Nora Barela; numerous aunts, uncles and other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Church in Chimayo with burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the follow serving as pallbearers: Felix Jr., Ricky Jr., Teddy, Dennis and Isaac Barela, Louisa and Peter Aguilar and Jasmine Moya; honorary pallbearers: Gilbert Barela, James Barela and all of Mary’s cousins. The family of Mary Barela have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
