Mary T. Quintana, 94 of Jacona, NM, passed away on December 12, 2024, with her daughter and son by her side. Mary worked for the Santa Fe County Extension services for many years. She later worked for the Pojoaque Valley Schools in the cafeteria as a cook, which she eventually retired from. Mary enjoyed going to the casinos with her late husband Bobby and talking on the phone almost daily with her late son Michael. They are all reunited. She also spent many evenings listening to the Pojoaque Elk and Elkette games on the radio. During the day she would watch the neighbors farm animals out of her back window and in the spring-time she enjoyed watching the gardens grow. Mary liked talking about the old days when she was growing up. When she was still able to drive you would see her little green pick up truck all over the valley. On Sunday mornings she would get to church early so that she could have her special seat on the last row next to the aisle. While her grandchildren and great grandchildren were in dance, Mariachi, sports, choir, and drama club she could be found in the bleachers offering her support with a big smile across her face. Mary was blessed to have 5 generations in her family, an accomplishment that she was proud to tell people. Mary always welcomed friends and family into her home and had cold cans of Pepsi in her fridge to offer guests.
