Pauline M. Herrera, 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 11, 2024.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Herrera; daughters, Christi Herrera and baby April Herrera; mother, Amada Clara Roybal; father, Jose Larkin Gallegos; grandparents, Eloisa Montoya Roybal and Mauricio Roybal; beloved sister, Rosabella Lineberry; brothers, Joseph “Chicken” Gallegos, Antonio “Buddy” Gallegos; half-siblings, Ellie Gallegos, Eddie Gallegos, Mary Ann “Chata” Lopez, and Bobby Gallegos.
She is survived by her children; Gary Maestas (Donna), Diahann Cordova (Dicky), and Ashlee Nicole Herrera (Harold); sister Loretta Gonzales; grandchildren Sydney Cordova, Erik Cordova (Erika), Hailee Maestas, Shaylynn Maestas, and her one and only great grandson, Luke Noah Romero; special niece and nephew Rochelle Lineberry and Randy Flores; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Pauline graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1959 and because of her amazing personality, she was voted “Most Popular” by her classmates during her senior year. After high school, she attended Business College in Las Vegas, NM and worked for the State of New Mexico for many years before retiring to raise her children.
Pauline was a social butterfly who loved people. She made friends everywhere she went and was not shy about starting up conversations with strangers. She loved working at Blue Zone by Body Basics Healing Center helping her daughter with the business and being its biggest promoter. She made many friends at Blue Zone because of her awesome and witty personality and sweet conversations. She will be remembered by all for her beautiful smile and big blue eyes. She loved people, but most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and shared the truth of the Gospel with everyone who God placed in her path. She was genuinely passionate about her faith and was not afraid to share. Romans 1:16 describes our Mom well. Pauline lived for her family. She loved the holidays and other family celebrations because she was around the people who meant the most to her. She will forever live in our hearts as we honor our mother and grandmother with embracing her wisdom and living life walking in the light of her prayers. This is not a goodbye Mom, this is "pause" until we meet again.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
