Mary Maez

MARY FRANCES (CAROL) MAEZ, 78, a resident of Española, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 41 years to the day of her father’s passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Atilano and Rosana Garcia; brothers, Carlos, Richard, Eppie and Leroy Garcia; parents-in-law, Desiderio and Margaret Maez and brothers-in-law, Floyd, Steven and David Maez. Mary was a devoted member of Maria Santisma Ministries for 20 years. She was also a substitute teacher for the Española and Fairview schools. Mrs. Maez is survived by her husband, Alex Maez; beloved Chihuahua “Judy”; brother, Herminio Garcia (Bennie); sisters, Susie Chacon, Priscilla Perea, Yolanda Moya (William), Rosie Jones and Dylin Martinez; brothers-in-law, Dickie Maez (Gloria), Ruben Maez (Darlene); God-mother, Yosina Archuleta; God-children, Beverly Padilla and Ruben Maez, Jr. and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez. Burial to follow at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Hernandez with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Reuben Maez, Reuben Maez, Jr., Marcos Maez, Leroy Chacon, Che Mondragon and Eric Sauceda. Honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews. The family of Mary Frances (Carol) Maez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
