Mary Maestas

Our precious mamacita bonita fell into her peaceful rest on Friday, October 20, 2017 with her family at her side. Mary C. Maestas, 92 a resident of Rio Chama was born in Cerrillos, N.M. on March 2, 1925. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and married in the Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reynel Maestas; granddaughter, Venessa Valerio and grandson, Eric Romero. Mrs. Maestas is survived by her sister, Eufie (Willie) Dominguez; her six children, Archie (Vickie) Maestas of Rio Chama, Elizabeth (Martin) Montoya of Rio Rancho, Annette (Carlos) Valerio-Atencio; Benjamin (Joylene) Maestas of Rio Chama; Tina Maestas of Rio Rancho and Cindy Benson of Rio Chama; 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Please know that our mom appreciated and loved everyone who made her smile with your care, calls, visits, etc. A rosary for Mary C. Maestas and her late husband, Reynel Maestas will be recited on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Mary C. Maestas along with her husband, Reynel Maestas will be laid to rest at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery. The family of Mary C. Maestas has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
