Martin Martinez

Martin Martinez, 56, a resident formerly of Chimayo, more recently a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Eduvigen and Carlotta Martinez; daughter, Angelic Martinez; brothers, Meardo, Gilbert, and Johnny Martinez, sisters, Elsie Fernandez and Erma Martinez, and several nieces and nephews. Martin was a character, he loved giving everyone a hard time in his loving ways. He loved his motorcycle. Martin is survived by his wife, Yvonne; sons, Martin Martinez Jr, and Orlando Martinez (Nessie) both of Albuquerque, sister, Aggie Chavez of Albuquerque; step-son, James Padilla (Sky Garcia) of Santa Fe, step-daughters, LeeAnna Apodaca (Zac Lopez) and Luisa Padilla both of Rio Rancho; 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and special granddaughter his little “Tinker” Arianna Lopez; mother-in-law, Corrine Martinez of Santo Nino, and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada, with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Lorenzo Brinoes, Orlando Baca, Charles Baca, Donavan Hurtado, Harold Martinez, and Gino Carter, honorary pallbearers named are Johnny Joe Romero. The family of Martin Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n \r\n \r\n
