MARTIN RODRIGUEZ, JR., 24, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away on unexpectedly on Thursday, December 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carrie Drysdale and Eloy Martinez. He graduated from Santa Fe High School. He loved to be outside playing, walking, playing basketball and playing with his stuffed animals. You will always be in our hearts and we love you with all our hearts, you will be dearly missed and always remembered. Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his mother, Josephine Drysdale; step-father that raised him like a son, Martin Ovalle Mercado; father, Martin Rodriguez Sr.; sisters, Maria Gutierrez, Lucero Rodriguez and Daisy Drysdale; nieces and nephews, Eric Avalos, Maribel Avalos, Anayelli Arevalo, Uriel Ronquillo, Yandel Ronquillo, Carolina Alvarez, Yareli Alfaro; uncles and aunts, Juanita Arroyos, Marie Bustillos, Susan Ortiz, Valerie Lopez, Tirzah Urquidi, Donald Horton, Miguel Lujan, Joseph Drysdale; very special cousin, Angelica Zuniga; cousins, Vanessa Quintero, Estrella Urquidi, Adam Quintana, Jose Quintana, Monica Ortiz, Socorro Maldonado, Javier Rodriguez, Valentin Rodriguez, Graciela Rodriguez and Maria Orozco; God-parents, Jose and Norma Rodriguez; uncles, Manuel Rodriguez, Ruben Rodriguez; aunt, Olga Rodriguez. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Basilica Chapel in Santa Fe. Burial to follow at the Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde with the following serving as pallbearers, Brian Lopez, Valentin Ortiz, Alejando Ortiz, Antonio Mendoza, Carlos Zuniga, Jorge Alfaro. The family of Martin Rodriguez, Jr. has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
