Martha Cardenas

Martha Cardenas, 70, a resident of Taos, passed away on March 21, 2019 after a short illness surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Maria Cardenas; nephews, Gabriel Cardenas and Isaiah Ortiz.  She was a kind, caring spirit with a beautiful smile known by many for her work at Ricky’s restaurant for over 40 years and caretaking with the elderly. She is a beautiful mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She will be missed by so many. Martha is survived by her children; Elizabeth Hobbs, Isaac Hamilton (Sandra), Mary Jane Lujan (Ruben), Rebecca Hamilton, and Michelle Hamilton; siblings, Betty Cox, Nick Cardenas (Gloria), Ricky Cardenas, Ramon Cardenas (Rose), and Danny Cardenas; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  A rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco. Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Trinity Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery.     The family of Martha Cardenas has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. 505-747-7477 – www.devargasfuneral.com
