Martha J. Archuleta, a life-long resident of the Espanola Valley died peacefully on January 23, 2023. She was 87. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Donaldo, her parents Jose V. and Amabel M. Archuleta, her brothers, Johnny and “Butch’, and her sister Belle Becker. Martha is survived by her sister, Norma Evans (Robert), brother-in-law Leo Martinez (Vicenta), sister-in-law Martha Archuleta (Cippie), her children, Victoria A. Jones, Karyne L. Archuleta, D.Tomas Archuleta, 5 granddaughters Nicole Randolph (Carnel Sr.), Monique Jones, Beatriz and Victoria Naranjo, Denese Archuleta, and grandson Donald Archuleta, four great-grandchildren, Javien, Cynia, Neriya, and Carnel Jr. Randolph, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Martha was a kid at heart and her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha retired as a VP from Sunwest Bank, she loved talking and visiting with people, she made many friends. Even after her retirement she would often go visit her elderly “customers” to check in on them. She was very active in her community and in her church, Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was instrumental in creating and operating the Sacred Heart Church Bingo where she was the Manager for 30+ years. She was very proud of the projects and re-modeling the Bingo funds contributed to for the church, and she always took a lead in making things better. Martha was a long-time member of the Altar and Rosary Society, an Officer of Amigos del Valle, and a member of Amantes del Flores Garden Club. Martha was a ‘doer’ and always found a way to get a job done, she didn’t stand for idleness, and believed ‘cleanliness was close to GODliness’.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer's research, Breast Cancer Awareness, or the charity of your choice, or simply clean something up. Martha would have liked that most of all. The family of Martha would like to thank Legacy Hospice nurses and staff along with all other caretakers who attended to Martha during this time.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Espanola, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, followed immediately by a Eulogy at 11:30 a.m., and a Mass of Christian burial to be held at 11:45 a.m. with a burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
