MARTHA DENAULT, 91, a resident of Santa Cruz, peacefully went home to be with our Lord and reunited with her daughter, (Bony) Yvonne and husband Harvey Denault. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Melia Quintana and Susan Borrego; brother, Santana Borrego and parents, Cesario and Genoveva Borrego. Martha was a woman of strong faith, who devoted her last years to reading the Bible with great devotion. She was born in Santa Cruz and also graduated for Santa Cruz High School. She went to California right after high school to work in the shipyards during WWII where she met her husband, Harvey Denault. Mr. Denault served in the US Navy where he earned the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Medal and the Phillippine Liberation Medal. Martha was a loving wife and dedicated mother. During her last year of life she was surrounded by her loving sister, Celina E. Borrego; nephew, John Robinson and very kind neighbors, Margaret Martinez and Marcie Davis. Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to be held on follow at 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Martha Denault has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
