Mark “Eric” Salazar of Nambe, NM, was called home by our beloved Lord on March 18, 2025. He was born on October 22,1966, to Gilbert and Lucy Salazar. Eric was loved by so many and left a legacy of a soul that was kind and giving.
Eric enjoyed planting his garden and irrigating at night. His younger and healthier days were spent with his brother, Victor, other family members, and friends, enjoying horseback riding, fishing, hunting and camping. He had many talents such as being a welder, a painter, and loved training and caring for horses. He worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory where he met and made many friends.
Eric was proceeded in death by his parents Gilbert and Lucy Salazar; his siblings Margaret, Leroy, and Antoinette Salazar; his grandparents Enrique and Anita Salazar, and Genaro and Antonia Terrazas; mother-in-law Eleanor Parsons; and uncles Tony Valdez and Joe Lopez.
He is survived by his wife Tina Salazar; daughter Victoria and son Christopher; sisters Dolly Rodriguez (Roy), Marcella Mathieson, Elizabeth Archuleta and Carol Salazar; father-in-law J.C. Parsons; his nieces and nephews, Lisa Marie Rodriguez, Jonathon Salazar, Kathleen Mathieson, Kristen Mathieson, Marissa Mathieson, Dallas Archuleta, Austin Archuleta, Bryan Carrillo and Sophia Carrillo; one great-nephew and Godson Everett James Hands; aunts, Alice Lopez, Theresa Daily and Tessie Valdez.
A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 6:30 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, with Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe, NM, (192 NM 503 Santa Fe, NM 87506).

The Salazar Family would like to thank Legacy Health Home & Hospice and its staff involved in Eric’s care. And, with special thanks to Donna Archuleta who’s love and compassion brought much joy and happiness to our Eric. We are forever grateful.
Our loving Eric made his journey home with the help of his brother Victor, who passed away on March 18, 2021. They could no longer be apart that Eric joined his brother on March 18, 2025.
