Marie "Adela" Martinez

MARIE “ADELA” MARTINEZ , 85, a resident of Chama passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Andrea Martinez; longtime companion, Max Salazar; brothers, Margarito Martinez and Gilbert Martinez; son-in-law, Bryan C. Cage, along with many aunts and uncles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Ms. Martinez is survived by her children, Matty Carrillo, Michael Martinez, Stella (Jose) Chavez, JoAnne (Ben) Martinez, Mary (Eddie) Martinez and Dorella (Willie) Trujillo; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Martinez and many aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Reception to follow the mass at the St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Burial to take place at the San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Park View/Los Ojos. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Joshua Martinez, Carlos Flores, Jose (Shorty) Chavez, Ben Martinez, Matthew Gallegos and Willie Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers will be, Yolanda Carrillo, Michael Martinez Jr., Veronica Flores, Michael Jaramillo, Robert (Jr) Gallegos and Gabriella Trujillo. The family of Marie “Adela” Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
